Okay so it started off with the laptop shutting down on me randomly when on battery. I thought ok. Then it wouldn't charge only and when it did somehow show that it had charged 100 % I remove the cable to find out that it's not working!! Turned off instantly.
After that a small accident happened and since then laptop had been acting very funny.  Now the display and keyboard backlights keep turning off and on.  Almost cannot use it. What shall i do please help guys. Posting this from my phone.

    Hi @EpicBunty ,
    Try doing a power drain by removing all the cables and  inserting paper clip on the battery reset hole, press and hold it for about 30 secs and turn on the unit. check whether the keyboard backlight stays on. Also do a bios default on the unit and check whether the unit is working fine, follow the below steps;
    1. Restart your computer. Open Start. ...
    2. Wait for the computer's first startup screen to appear. ...
    3. Repeatedly tap Del or F2 to enter setup. ...
    4. Wait for your BIOS to load. ...
    5. Find the "Setup Defaults" option. ...
    6. Select the "Load Setup Defaults" option and press ↵ Enter . ...
    7. Save your changes and confirm your selection if necessary.
    Hit Accept if its useful :)

    Ok i have done it but then again i never tinkered with the bios.  The main problem right now is the screen going on and off and kinda flickering at times when it goes on off too fast. That happens along with the backlight of the keys.
    Also i thought i would mention it but i had a kind of a spill on the keyboard.... i spilled some buttermilk.... this was after the battery issues though.

    Are you sure it is not a hardware failure?

    Battery seems to be fine. Tried a reset or clean install? If these steps don't work, take your PC to nearest Acer Service Centre and get it checked/fixed there.

    Don't worry about battery wear... as long as it is under 5-8% within one year of ownership. Windows tends to not charge battery when over 95% to avoid constant charge. It lets it fall under 95% before it starts charging again. At times, this charge cut off is determined by some software as "wear".
    Example: assuming your battery is at 96%, it is considered as 4% wear by these reporting softwares since windows shows it as "battery full".
