I need a way to cap my cpu speed, as it's fluctuating causing me fps drops.

Does anyone know of a application/ tutorial where I can cap my cpu's speed. At the moment it's base speed is 2.80GHz and when I'm gaming it's max speed is 3.40GHz. However it isn't a stable speed. When my computer is under heavy load, playing demanding games for a long period of time, the frames start to drop to very low around 10-20 for a few seconds then jump back to the usual speed. I know it's not an issue with temperature, as it hovers around 65c. I know it fluctuates a lot becuase I've monitored it in task manager when I'm experiencing the fps drops, and the speed of the cpu drops to around 0.70GHz. This is obviously a big problem, and I wish to keep it at the stable base frequency if possible. I would rather have a stable 60 fps than an unstable 100 fps...

Thanks in advance.

Piperrr If you want to cap you cpu speed ( wouldnt recommend it) just set the processor state on the power advanced option to 99% this will disable turbo boost and your cpu will only work at stock clock speeds the issue here is that your killing the beast and if you have some game that requires the full turbo boost clocks wont work properly also have you already optimized windows/undervolted and if still needed repasted it with kryonaut or similar just saying because this should be the first normal procedure to do on any gaming laptop to reduce the temps down to avoid thermal throttling anyway if your interested in learning more follow the links in my signature

It's not working D: I've already undervolted, and bought a cooling pad. All I want is to have stables fps without the extreme drops for a few seconds. My main game is pubg atm, and when your fps drops that low it becomes unplayable until it comes back after a few seconds. I have average 80-100 fps until it drops. I just need a way to make my cpu speed stable.

Piperrr you do realize pubg, fortnite and some others are really bad optimized games so dont expect much from them also you said you undervolted but is your windows optimized ?
