My Acer ET322QK won't play sounds after the monitor is turned off or goes to sleep, even mid game?

My monitor is paired with an Acer Predator so you would think that they would be an awesome pairing, but I have so many problems with this monitor I want to throw it off the CN Tower.  I have to restart my games or internet page if there's a video paused, the monitor goes to sleep and when I come back I have to exit the application or game and troubleshoot the audio.  There are 4-5 devices I can choose from, 2 acer monitor choices that do not actually stat whether they are the monitor speakers or the monitors headphone jack.  Then the other 3 choices are the Nvidia card but they don't state the actual output either.  What am I supposed to do, I have tried all possible troubleshooting suggestions, disabled audio enhancements.  I'm thinking of returning this and getting something else.

They should be the monitor speakers unless there's a headset plugged in in which case it routes the sound to the headset. I'm guessing the audios drivers that connect you to the monitor are powering down when the monitor goes into sleep mode. You could disable sleep or sometimes you can disable the power off mode in the driver. I expect when it wakes up it will eventually turn back on, but it's not happening fast enough.
