Hi. I have an Acer E5-571G-78GQ with i7-4510U, 8gb RAM, and Nvidia 840m 2gb.
I just play casual games like League of Legends and Dota2. FPS drop is very bad. I get 15fps on League (on low settings), and on Dota as well. (Weirdly, whenever I plug the charger I get 60 fps (on very low settings).
I tried installing other games such as the Witcher 3, and even on very low settings, I get below 10 fps. Updated all the drivers and Nvidia drivers as well.
What do I do with this? Thank you so much for the help.

    Good Morning JarvinBacs !

Let's start from the basic settings for game performance:

1- all drivers and windows must be properly updated
2- the device must be set to use the high performance power plan of Windows
3- the battery must be charged 100% before playing
4- Battery should be set to advanced power options for maximum performance.
5- Game applications must be set in dedicated GPU Dashboard (AMD or Nvida if you have one) to be the main
6- The appliance must be connected directly to a properly grounded power outlet without any power adapter.

As for the mention of "strangely", there is absolutely nothing wrong.
Only plugged into the power outlet can the processor and GPU achieve maximum performance.
