My Acer Aspire Switch 12 sw5-271 touch screen is not working.
There's 1 item in device manager (I2C HID device) where it said 'this device cannot start'.
Tried uninstall and reinstall driver still same.
Try reinstall win10 but still same.

When you did the driver uninstall, did you tell it to remove the files? Without that step it may be trying to reinstall a corrupted image.

There's no option to delete the file while uninstalling the driver.

In Device Manager is there a device called HID Compliant Touchscreen?

Bring that up and look at properties, then use the details tab to get the hardware ids. On my Switch 7 it is ACPI\VEN_ELAN&DEV_0732. Yours might be the same, but likely different. I'm guessing the HID Compliant Touchscreen device is gated by that I2C HID Device. I've got an original Switch 12 around here somewhere, but I'm not finding it easily. :(

OK, so part of the chipset drivers, try downloading and installing them from the Acer support site. There's a slim possibility it's a hardware issue with the motherboard, but I still lean toward a corrupted drive. Once that I2C comes up, the HID Compliant Touchscreen device should show up as well.

Can you give me the link for the driver?
As I can't find it at Acer website.
It didn't have any driver mentioned Touchscreen...
    Thanks!

I tried reinstalling IO driver from Acer and website but persist.
Can you link me to the driver?
    Thanks

When I go to the support page for the Switch 12, with Windows 10 64bit selected for OS I find the chipset driver a half dozen or so down from the top.

After installed the error still there.
Unable to start the device (code 10).

Then I'm afraid it might actually be a problem with the hardware. :( How ready are you for an upgrade? The original Switch 12 is getting a little long in the tooth...
