The blue light appears when I plug in the charger but when I hold the power button nothing happens, no lights on the keyboard or side of the laptop Andy the monitor stays black

Press Power button once, don't press it down and hold.

Make sure the power cable is unplugged and turn off the unit try doing a power drain , by inserting paperclip in the battery reset hole, press and hold it for about 30 secs it will remove the static energy on the unit.
Try turning on the unit
