I was wondering if I could use the acer 5750 Heatsink fan combo in the 5750G laptop. Or the v5 551 hsf on the v5 551G ? The extra extension on the G models heatsinks appears to be for the chipset.

The thermal module for the 551 and 551G appear to be the same with power consumption of 19watts max. No part number listed. The 5750 thermal module part number is 60.R9702.006 with unspecified power consumption max, Jack E/NJ

Thanks for the reply. The 551 (AT0JU0010R0) Heatsink and the 551G Heatsink (AT0HI007DA0) are different. My question was about using the smaller one 551 on the 551G mobo and possible "side effects". Same goes for the 5750 and 5750G... as well as the 5742 and 5742G models. Two different Heatsinks. Was wondering how important the extension was that covered the chipset and if there could be life without it.

Sorry, I can only go by the original specsheets for those models. Production & regional variations are possible. Jack E/NJ
