Acer Predator 17 charger making clicking sound when plugging it into laptop

A few days back, my Acer Predator 17 started making clicking sounds the moment I plug it into the laptop and it does not charge. I bought a new charger and the same thing happened, clicking sound and couldn't power on the laptop since it has no charge at this point. The power button doesn't work either. I disconnected the battery from the laptop, thinking it could be the root cause and it still made the clicking sound. At this point I have no idea what it could be.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Daemetius Well if you bought a new adapter (with the exact same specs) and still does the same probably its the motherboard itself that migh have a damaged component are you still on warranty if so send it asap if youre out of warranty you will have to take it to a repair shop to find out what it is if its the motherboard (power input) or something even worse anyway godd luck and let us know how it went

    Hi xampin,

If it happens to be the motherboard, then what would be the next steps in this case? Just trying to plan out my next moves under different circumstances.

Daemetius If you suspect its the mobo and if still on warranty send it for repair/replace if out of warranty your best option would be to probably try to find a donor/refurbished mobo to replace it
