Recovery discs don't support Refurbished units? Acer Aspire m3470g

So I went through the big process of getting recovery media for my desktop, paid the  $40. Trying to save a dead hard drive and just swap it with a brand new one.

Any other computer, no problem.

But this Acer likes to go into a boot loop no matter what operating system I tried. So even with official recovery discs, it does the exact same thing. Loads up to "Starting Windows " then immediately restarts.

On the Technical Support sheet they give you, it mentions that it doesn't support Refurbished or recertified motherboards. Well no one mentioned this to me before I bought the discs...

It just says call Acer. And I did. And they want to charge me technical support fees even though the recovery media people said they have people to call and assist. That's nice.

There is some kind of trick to get this to work in the bios and I don't know what or how. It is nowhere on the internet. I cannot find out what needs to be done to swap hard drives on this computer if it was purchased as a refurbished unit. If it wasn't the best computer I've got and still fairly decent, I'd have just chucked it off a bridge at this point.

Does anyone know what needs to be done?
