I have an A717-72G-700J (Aspire 7 NH.GXEAA.005).

It comes with a GTX 1060 6GB graphics card.

GeForce Experience is telling me to upgrade the Nvidia driver from version 388.73 to 430.86:

Should I or should I not?

Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Or does it not matter, one way or the other?

I'm skeptical because this is the generic driver provided by Nvidia, and not a specific driver coming from the OEM (Acer). Nvidia themselves state as much on their support page, that we should consider whether the OEM wants us to update or not:

Does anyone else have experience with using the GTX 1060 on Acer Aspire 7 notebooks with driver versions 388.73 and 430.86? Or even with Predator Helios 300s'?

Someone please help .....

    Good afternoon ys876 !

First, understand that drivers are dynamic.
You can (and in some cases) update the versions.
Any unsuccessful upgrade or performance failure can easily be rolled back.
Each driver version provides performances and advantages for certain users.
If your file is stable with the current driver and the final performance is met, I suggest you keep.
