I recently got a TravelMate P4 TMP449-G2-M (refurbished), but it comes with an HDD which I am looking to upgrade to an SSD. I have one purchased already, but can't figure out how to remove the existing HDD. The advice is generally to slide it backwards and pull it out, but it seems to be stuck, possibly because of the rubbery thing surrounding it; can anyone help?

It seems to be the TravelMate P4 TMP449-G2-M-56S0, which seems a uselessly long model name.
Anyway, that helps somewhat, but the issue I have is that I have no idea how to physically get the "HDD module" out without damaging it.

(Sorry if you get this twice somehow, I'm confused at how exactly this forum works)
