Acer Aspire 5943G Volume Dial Under TrackPad damaged and unable to Disable

Hello All,

Hope someone will be able to help me with this. I recently upgraded my Acer Aspire 5943G to Windows 10 and have noticed that if I apply any pressure on the left of the tracker pad or even slightly move my laptop the volume just drops to 0 and then mutes. Using the Volume dial itself proves useless as moving it one way there's a 50/50 chance of it decreasing or increasing the volume. I've checked the BIOS and there's no option to turn it off (or the Fn keys - I assume it may be tied to the volume buttons as there's no alternative on the keyboard). Would I have to update the BIOS to get these options? Is there another way of doing it?

Apologies if I'm missing any info.

Thanks

Dave

Open Device Manager. Do you see any red or yellow warnings? Jack E/NJ
