Hello, I am currently using Acer Swift 3 SF314-52-50FX with 256 GB m.2 SATA SSD. I plan to upgrade to 512 GB Samsung 970 Evo Plus or WD Black. So, to confirm whether the laptop has a second slot for SSD or not, I opened up the laptop and checked. It does have an extra m.2 port. Also, I installed HWiNFO and it is showing a PCIe 3.0 port 2x. I plan to use only one SSD of 512 GB capacity.
Now my question is -
- whether will it support NVME SSD or not?
- If yes, will it work at 4x speed since HWiNFO only showing "Max Link Width" at 2x?
- If it supports NVME SSD and at 2x only, should I opt for a PCIe 3.0 2x SSD(maybe WD Blue SN500)?
I would be obliged if someone can answer these.
Thanks,
Sudhanshu
