What is the basic difference between the Swift 3 and Swift 5?  All things being equal, should I prefer one over the other?

The 315 is similar except it has 7th generation single speed intel CPUs including with no turbo boost.  RAM is soldered to the mainboard and not replaceable in both models. Jack E/NJ

There are at least 10 different models and submodels for each series. Generally speaking the 5 series seem to have better CPU selections than the 5 series but not always. But then the 3 series have some better graphics than the 5 series but not always. All things being equal? Are you kidding me? There are so many options and variables, including your own main uses for the machine, kinda hard to give you an answer. Do you have specific models and submodels that you're looking at? And if the price differences are less than 10% for models that seem to have all the same advertised features from reliable vendors, go for the price.   Jack E/NJ

I'm looking at the Swift 5 SF515-51T-507P, 15.6” FHD IPS Touch Display, .23" bezel, 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8265U, 8GB DDR4, 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD, Back-lit Keyboard.  I'd prefer an i7 processor and 512 GB SSD, but this one is pretty good -- and the most important thing is that it is _light_.
