    At first try these steps
    > Unplug the adapter and turn off the device
    > Flip the unit upside down and look for a tiny pinhole with a battery icon next to it
    > Use any suitable tool and insert it into the pinhole
    > Hold it about 30 - 40 sec and test your unit.

If the issue still persist then check your device power settings and select high performance when plugged in.

Hi, try to reinstall the battery drivers and check. If not also try to do a System Refresh.

Kindly click "YES" to "Did this answer the question" if my answer helped you!

    Hi,Rudy21,
Thanks for the guidance.I couldn't find any pin hole as suggested.Though I selected power settings "high performance when plugged in",there was no change.
I would explain the issue again as below.
*Laptop works fine with battery power only without connecting adapter.
*Laptop gets hanged , shows a blue screen,or shows error 'OS absent' when connecting the adapter.
*Laptop battery gets charged as normal, when laptop is off and adapter is connected with power.
*Laptop is put ON,when charging is ON,the indicator green light on the top of the keyboard is found OFF,while the indicator lamps on the switch and on the front side(near audio input-output) are ON,but screen remains 'blue'.Then while trying to put OFF the laptop by pressing the ON-OFF switch, the indicator lights on the switch and on the front side don't get OFF by pressing the switch OFF.The indicator lights on the switch and on the front side gets OFF,only after removing the battery physically .
I think I have tried to explain the issues suitably.

    Hi,Martinjohn00001,
Thanks for the guidance.I am yet to try the suggestions given by you.I will come back to you with the results. But I think battery drivers will correct the issues with battery charging. But here issue seems to be in charging circuitry with respect to the battery power rather than the battery per se.
Meanwhile,pl see the issues correctly as given below.
