I purchased a 500GB m.2 SSD from WD. I followed the tutorial video from Acer Support (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCmAOwRYNwY) However once the new SSD was installed I could not set it up. One thing I noticed was that the new drive was not showing up on the boot screen, it only showed my USB stick with with the recovery drive. Where did I go wrong?

    Good afternoon wesnb !

Did you replace your standard HDD with an SSD?
    Converted the SSD to GPT?
Is the installation pendrive configured for UEFI mode and GPT format?
Is Bios with SecureBoot disabled and in UEFi mode?
    Is ISO x64 bit?

@JackE the SSD does not show on the BIOS screen, only the recovery drive on the USB stick.

Did you replace your standard HDD with an SSD? - That is what I'm trying to do. I physically removed the HDD and inserted the SSD.
Converted the SSD to GPT? - No. What is this for and how do I do it?
Is the installation pendrive configured for UEFI mode and GPT format? - I don't know. In Acer Care Center I went to "Create Factory Default Backup" per the video.
Is Bios with SecureBoot disabled and in UEFi mode? - Yes.
Is ISO x64 bit? - I don't know. What is this and how would I check?

Thanks for your reply! Sorry I am not more knowledgeable, am trying to become more computer literate.

If the SSD doesn't show up on the BIOS Information tab (as opposed to the BIOS Boot tab), it's either not connected properly or a dud. Jack E/NJ

@JackE I see it, it does show up on the information tab, just not the boot tab. How do I fix this?

OK, the SSD won't show up in the BIOS Boot tab because it's not bootable yet. What happens when you shut the machine off, insert the ACER recovery stick in a USB3a port, then turn the machine on? If nothing, try the other USB3a port the same way? Jack E/NJ
