I read a lot on the forums about upgrading my Spin 3 with M.2 SSD and it seemed that NVMe is generally not compatible, so I bought a WD Green M.2 2280 SATA III 6Gb/s drive which appears to tick all the boxes on compatibility. Unfortunately it doesn't show up in the BIOS - Just nothing in Slot 0 (which I assume is the M.2, since the 1Tb standard drive appears in Slot 1). The Spin 3 type is NX.GUWEK.006.
One of these must be true:
1. I have a duff drive (which I can get replaced)
2. I have a duff Spin 3
(which I can get replaced)
3. There is some setting I missed (there doesn't seem to be much in the BIOS - I have V1.10 - to change)
4. They are incompatible and it will never work and I should buy a different SSD (which?)
Thanks for any help.
