Remove the charger. Press and hold the power button till the machine shuts off. Look for a pinhole with a battery symbol on the bottom of the laptop. Gently insert a paperclip for about 10 secs. Then let the machine set for 15 mins. Then plug the charger back in and turn it back on. Jack E/NJ

Thank you, but didn't work keyboard is frozen with "boot manager" on the screen and no way to enter command Also, smells of cat piss. F'n cat. Will a remote keyboard work or is it a lost cause?

That battery symbol thingy appears to be a battery release switch, not a reset button

Google keywords 'e5-411 keyboard' for a replacement vendor/seller that might be convenient for you to order from. It's usually sold as a whole top replacement assembly including the touchpad holder. But some vendors sell just the keyboard which means the old keyboard must be detached from the top assembly usually by using a soldering tip to melt plastic retainers. Fairly inexpensive but a chore to change it. Jack E/NJ

That'll work. Logitech has wireless variety. Fairly inexpensive. Jack E/NJ
