hi

I've recently bought an acer aspire nitro v black edition laptop about 5 months ago and its been running fine but recently the laptop has been crashing if its not plugged in to charge.
i haven't been using it to play nay games for about a month now due to studies and its been mostly light use, i keep the performance on best battery life. there has been no over heating issues and the laptop shuts off usually between 15 to 30 minutes after use without a charger. with the CPU usage it hardly goes over 50% during that period, im not sure what the problem is and its affecting my ability to study since i cant always have an electrical outlet available.

this is my first laptop and i'm having trouble finding a solution to this problem

I've just checked and the model number is Aspire VN7-593G, as for the circumstance before the crashing I often have a few tabs open and i'm writing an essay or searching for sources the highest my CPU usage is during these times is between 15% to 60% and for the memory it's often around the 50% area. When the laptop crashes it's often sudden and the screen goes black and the keyboard light stays on for a moment or two then turns off as well and i have to wait about 5 min before starting it again and anything i had open before it crashed would have been closed causing me to have to wait open them all fain. I don't experience this issue at all when the charger is plugged in and i don't let my battery fall below 30% when i don't have it plugged in.

this has been causing me alot of stress since im currently in exam period

If I understand correctly this doesn't happen when plugged in and when on battery it doesn't happen until your battery falls below 30%. If this is the case the Laptop is shutting down because you do not have enough battery power to run the open processes. It is not recommended to run your battery down past 20-30% and battery meters can be inaccurate so your remaining battery may in fact be even lower so this behavior is somewhat normal. Charging and fully discharging the battery is not good practice, top your battery up while you sleep, run the laptop on AC when possible and when on battery plug into AC when approaching 30% discharge. So from what you have told us your Laptop does not seem to have a problem

I think i might have phrased that wrong what i meant by it was that i avoided fully discharging my laptop so i don't ruin the battery life, the shutting off usually happens as long as the laptop is not connected to a AC so for example i might have fully charged my laptop and and unplugged it from the AC and after about 10 to 20 min the laptop would abruptly shutdown and i lose whatever progress i had made. i'm not sure if it's due to a bad battery since I've only had the laptop for a few months and i haven't engaged in a lot of heavy gaming, most of the use has been with studying.
