I have a couple of Aspire One machines.  First in particular I would like to see if stability will improve if I update the BIOS.
Seems the process is to run a dos .bat job or some windows .exe.

How can I update this machine If it is running only Linux?

    Good night, hopley !

Bios updates are extremely delicate and risky processes and should only be performed in serious cases of serious system errors or extreme need for correction or compatibility.
Outside this is a process that should be avoided to the maximum, especially if your machine is working perfectly.

As for the operative system, if you want to switch from Linux to Windows you must acquire valid licenses for installation.

OK.  I would not want to put windows on the machine.  So, seems not able
to do a BIOS update and you do not indicate it should be done.

The machine/laptop is not running well/consistent and I am experiencing erratic
behaviors (sometimes display not working other times no issues ; sometimes  I
can successfully install a new operating systems and then it does
    not work).

I have another Acer (AO725) running Fedora 28 and another running RedHat8
Then one other AO722 that I just upgraded to Fedora30.  That is what my goal
was for this AO722.  Seems that I should not count on that machine

    Thanks for your time/feedback.

I hope the rest of your week goes great.
