If I have a pair of desktop speakers plugged in to the audio jack on my Acer Nitro 5 515-53 can I still use the built-in microphones to talk?

Thank you in advance for your responses have a great day!

So why don't you Skype or Facetime somebody and find out?
Well actually I was hoping to find out the answer before I wasted money buying speakers...
if necessary I'll use Bluetooth speakers but they're more expensive.
Ahh I see. but your post said "I have a pair of speakers plugged in" I can't give you a 100% answer but I don't think Audio out would conflict with Audio in so it should work but I'm not absolutely sure. If it doesn't work try this.
When your speakers are connected, go into "Control Panel" and then "Sound". Click on the "Recording" tab and then highlight the internal microphone. Right click on it and make sure it isn't set as "Disabled" and then also make sure it is set as the "Default Device". Once done click "Apply" and then click "OK".

Please click YES if I answered your question

    Cool, thank you!
Originally it said the same thing as with the first line of my post was but the Forum said that was too long for a title question so I had to trim it down and it somehow lost the "IF" However it was in the body of the message but I can understand the confusion... Sorry about that!

But thank you for your suggestion I do think that that's definitely worth trying I've probably got old  pair of speakers around here somewhere or maybe a set of headphones we'll see if that works!

I finally finished getting that system put together and when I plugged in the speakers and everything this did the trick so problem solved thank you!
