Acer continues to extend its position in the gaming notebook category with several regions in the Americas claiming the No.1 market share position in four key countries: U.S, Brazil, Peru and Colombia. Acer Brazil has maintained its position in the Gaming Notebook category for 12 consecutive months, this achievement has been due to excellent programs and marketing events, with a 47.2 percent market share in March, strong retail relationships and success with important products such as the Predator Helios 300 and Nitro line.
Acer Brazil sponsored leading local eSports teams and hosted one of the top parties at Brazil Game Show (BGS), the largest gaming convention in Latin America. A gaming influencer program also resulted in 176,000 views with excellent conversion to the Acer Store. Predator and Nitro products resonated well with customers purchasing directly from the Acer Store as well as from top retailers including Via Varejo, B2W and Magazine Luiza.
In Colombia, Acer first achieved the No.1 market share for gaming notebooks in Quarter 4 of 2018 and recaptured it once again in March. Marketing efforts in Colombia include the Summon Your Strength digital campaign, a robust PR and media seeding program, PC Mall weekend gaming events, dedicated in-store kiosks, sponsorship of the Vault eSports team, and a presence at SOFA, the largest gaming event in Colombia. The full line of Predator products is offered in Colombia, with Nitro being the most popular offering.
Acer also holds the No.1 position in the United States and Peru for gaming notebooks. Acer Peru currently holds 45 percent share of the market and has held the No.1 position since November, 2017 while Acer has held the No.1 position in the United Stated since May of 2018.
