I'm using Acer swift 3 SF315-52G (NX.H1NSI.001) 16 GB optane memory and mx150 graphics.
I must use Linux for my development purpose so I can't use optane in Linux
my question is can I use m.2 SSD instead of intel optane?
and also want to remove my hdd(to save the battery) can I remove HDD from my laptop?

If it's not a RAID0 setup, you should be able to change the SATA mode from RST-Optane to ACHI in the BIOS Main tab. Remove the Optane card. Make sure the system still boots. Then install the m.2 card and clone the HDD onto it. Jack E/NJ

Yes. That's probably easiest. Clone the HDD/Optane combo to the SSD using a USB-2-HDD/SSD adapter. Then you can remove the Optane card since it won't help speed a 2.5" SSD. Switch the BIOS to ACHI SATA mode. Done. Jack E/NJ

PS: I also advise running dual boot on this Windows-designed machine. You can set it up so you won't even know Win10 is there like I do on my ACER and HP laptops. https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/comment/598047/#Comment_598047
