hello

I have just bought a ACER es1-523-231l from Argos clearance, initially all was well as I only need it for work but I’ve found that no and again the screen will go blank. The blue power light is still on but I can’t do anything other than hold down the power button to restart. It tends to happen when the power cable is plugged in. Is this a common issue and if so is there a fix?

Thanks

Open Control Panel. Search 'power plan'. Click 'edit power plan' in the left pane. Change all timer settings to 'never' as in the link below. Jack E

I’ve done this now but it was happening when Ive been half way through writing a web address etc, so I don’t think it was because it was inactive. Thanks though I’ll see if it makes any difference.

If it happens again, then see if it happens when the machine is not being physically moved or used. It could be the video ribbon cable that often develops conductor breaks as it threads through the crowded hinge area. Is this a new or perhaps re-conditioned machine? Jack E/NJ
