BIOS was UEFI out of the box.
Replaced original drive with Evo 860 500GB SSD.
Changed BIOS to legacy.
BIOS has been set to legacy ever since.
Installed Win 10 1809 on SSD. The Win 10 install flash drive was built in legacy mode.
Win 10 installed in legacy mode and booted and worked correctly.
It created the "System Reserved" 500MB partion and the main primary partion. No EFI partition due to legacy mode.
Built up the windows UI for a week with no issues.
Worked fine and must have booted hundreds of times during the build up.
Decided to update BIOS after I discovered the latest BIOS was eleven versions ahead of the as-shipped BIOS. v1.03 vs latest v1.14.
Ran the BIOS update .exe from windows.
It rebooted and updated the BIOS to v1.14.
It stated that the BIOS update was completed successfully.
It failed to boot after the BIOS update. It went straight to the network boot.
Now I have to F12 and select the SSD drive to get it to boot.
It Boots USB sticks with no issue.
The boot order is set to USB HDD, USB FDD, USB CD, SATA 1, SATA 2, etc...
F12 is the only way to boot the SSD.
If I change the order to put the SSD first. It still won't boot without using F12.
But the SSD will boot when set first, if a windows recovery flash drive is inserted in the machine.
