Are you still using WinVista or WinXP? If yes, can you enter the BIOS menu by pressing/tapping F2 when turning on the machine? Jack E/NJ

Turn the machine off again. Press and hold the F2 key. While still holding the F2 key, press the power button. If the BIOS menu still does not appear, then the ribbon cable that connects the keyboard to the mainboard has either loosened or needs to be re-seated. You can sometimes find a video of the procedure for removing the keyboard to access this cable but googling the keywords 'your model number' 'disassembly' Jack E/NJ

Remove charger and battery pack. Plug charger back in. Does it turn on without the battery pack? Jack E/NJ

Ok, will that fix the keyboard and mouse?

Probably not if they still don't work without the battery pack. The KB & touchpad ribbon cable connectors probably have to be re-seated to the mainboard a dozen or so times to clean their contacts if the system has setting around without being turned on for any length of time. Jack E/NJ
