My Aspire R3 shows no blue light when the charge adaptor is plugged in. It won't boot at all. I know the adaptor is working as it shows 18 volts on the plug. I think the battery is full. Tried the battery reset in the hole at the back with a paper clip. No result.

No blue or amber charging light means battery is not being charged. No power on means the battery is dead or disconnected. The adapter plug output between center hole and barrel should be 19v DC with no load. About all I can recommend is to remove the bottom case and re-seat the battery pack mainboard connector a few times to clean its contacts. Jack E/NJ

I have the same issue. i am getting 19 dcv to the board after the a/c jack connector, but only 3-4 dcv to the battery itself. no light, no power up.

If the battery is connected and shows only 3-4volts at its contacts, then it probably has an internal short. Jack E/NJ
