Where is HP Printer Assistant on my Acer computer?

I have a new Acer computer hooked up by wireless to a new HP printer.  The printer prints from the computer without a problem.  But today I tried to scan a document, and the printer does not recognize my computer.  I went online and found out how to use the HP printer assistant software, but I can't seem to *find* the software on my Acer.  Wouldn't the technician at the store automatically have loaded the HP software when he set up the computer and printer?  If he didn't, then how come the printer works fine, but the other stuff doesn't work?

Also if anyone has a phone number for HP technical assistance, I would like it.  The website just gives me the runaround, and won't give me a working phone number.

    Good night BookEditor !

There is a difference between the HP printer recognition driver and the application and control software.
What is the exact model of your printer?
