I shut down my laptop last night like I usually do, when I start it back up I notice the battery was completely dead. As far as I know I didn’t hear anything was running after shutdown. I figured it just went into sleep mode instead. So while charging the battery, at 50% it began to beep as if the A/C power is being plugged in.

So I notice every 10 seconds it disconnects from A/C power and 10 seconds later it reconnects. I had a new A/C power brick laying around so I switched it, no difference.

I uninstalled the ACPI-Compliant Control Method and reinstall along with disabling fast startup. Didn’t solve the issue.

Last time I brought up, I was told it could something tripping within the adaptor but since I am using a new one, it doesn’t appear to be case?

The laptop is charging albeit slowly but I want to know what’s causing this issue. Thanks.

Get your windows battery report and see the battery values and the wear it might be faulty or not, the internal Li-Polymer batteries will not last a lifetime they have a limited time life cycles and the best with these kind of batteries its to leave it on A/C all the time and calibrate it once every 2/3 months because the more times you recharge it the more cycles you use but again as i said check your windows battery report to see if the issue is the battery or not it might be something else

I checked the battery report and it came back good. What I noticed was that when the battery was fully charged back the issue was resolved.

it seems once the battery is completely drain i experience this issue during charging.

Ok so theres nothing wrong its completely normal you have to always have the battery fully charged and on A/C to play games or any other high demanding tasks the battery is needed to aid the adapter when this one cannot provide enough power to the cpu/gpu this is the main purpose of the battery it was not made to work on battery only (for performance) you can do it but only light tasks and the adapter will only kick in to charge the battery when the battery goes under 95% also depends on how many usb devices you are using or external monitor as these drain much more power making the battery to kick in to aid the adapter and when the battery reaches under 40% there will be a massive decrease in performance as the adapter cannot provide enough power to the cpu/gpu and charge the battery at the same time

I always play with A/C on as I know of the high energy demands of the GPU/CPU.

I use 2 USB ports 1) for mouse and 2) Laptop cooling pad

you shouldnt use the laptop usb ports to power any kind of cooling pads ever theres no need to do that its a waste of power draining they dont need to be connected to the laptop just to a normal wall socket or you should use a self powered usb hub instead for both or a self powered cooling pad

Okay, I am suspecting this is a battery issue, Last night I shut down the laptop at 100% power. This morning when I picked it up the battery was still warm to the touch. So I turned it on and saw the Battery completely drained. I disabled Fast Start up and made sure it shut down with no usb devices plugged in.

    Hello,

I'm having a similar issue with my battery, except mine doesn't charge at all. It's currently plugged in and the battery symbol doesn't seem to be charging. It's just stuck at 0%. I've restarted the battery and re-installed the battery driver to no avail. Any suggestions?
