Open Device Manager. Click keyboard folder. Uninstall the keyboard driver. Exit Device Manager. Reboot computer. Jack E/NJ

What email or text program are you using to type? Do all the characters that you type turn to 7? Jack E/NJ

I am using a Laptop and not all the characters I type turn into 7 it's just "uiopjklm,." the characters turn into 7 until I repeatedly press the letter

    An example: 7777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777i7777777777777777

I had to keep pressing my "i" until it came up.

Seems like the NumLock F11 key is being inadvertently activated. When this happens, try pressing the NumLock key or FN+NumLock keys. Also try this. Shut the machine completely off. Then turn it back on again and immediately start tapping the F2 key to enter the BIOS menu. Under the BIOS Main tab, look for an option to change function key behavior. Then press the F10 key to save your function key change and exit the BIOS. See if it helps. If you can't find this option, then let me know your full ACER model number. Jack E/NJ

I opened the BIOS menu, but it didn’t show a change function key behaviour, my acer model number is F5-573-725L

OK. Go back into the BIOS menu. Press F9 to load setup defaults. F10 to save settings and exit. If that doesn't work, then remove 3 screws from the HDD/RAM cover panel and try to re-seat the KB mainboard connector a few times to clean its contacts. If you can't get it completely off without removing the whole back cover, then just pull it part way off in a rocking motion, the push it back in again a few times. Jack E/NJ

You've got to re-seat it several more times. The contacts are obviously dirty/corroded inside. Re-seat it a dozen or more times. Won't hurt anything.  Jack E/NJ
