Thanks for responding JackE. We use Google Chrome as a browser and the email is part of yahoo.

It's probably a hotkey combination that's peculiar to the email software that you're using and you're inadvertantly activating it. What email program or internet provider email app are you using? Jack E/NJ

Does the font actually change? Or is it the same font that either changes in size, boldfaced or italicized? If you type rapidly you could be inadavertently hitting a Yahoo compose hotkey combo such as CTRL+B or CTRL+I etc. Jack E/NJ

JackE. Thanks for your help. Perhaps the person touch typing inadvertently hit the Ctrl key with another key as well.

Not just the CTRL key. The ALT, FN & Shift can also be involved in other hotkey combos that are unintended. There might be a way of turning hotkeys and shortcuts off in Yahoo compose but I'm not an expert at using these shortcuts. Jack E/NJ

JackE, thanks, apparently on windows 10 there is a hibernate function. I have turned it off and hopefully that works.

Hibernate or sleep settings should not affect anything in the middle of composing unless the computer is set to hibernate or sleep after so many minutes of inactivity. Then it will just shut off into hibernate or sleep mode and may be difficult to start back up where you left off.  Jack E/NJ
