So, I was here a few months ago about asking about the appropriate upgrade for my PSU and GPU. Now, I have the stock motherboard that came w/ my ACER PRedator G3-710 desktop computer. Im not really looking to upgrade my MoBo juuust yet (maybe within the next 2-3 years), but I read that he BIOS on this stock MoBo does not work with 7th generation chipsets (RIP 7700 and 8700s), but will an AMD 6th gen processor work or must I remain with intel i7-6700K until I upgrade my MoBo in the next few years?

You have to stay with the same generation Intel CPU, and match it to your socket type. The chipset is different for different generations, and pretty much everything is different for AMD CPUs.

    To better state:

I do game on my computer, but I dont play a lot of high end games like.....FFXV, tomb raider, etc. I play mainly games like GW2, FFXIV, OSU, Overwatch, Monster Hunter World, etc.

If I were to get a 6700 or even a 6700K, how many years would this processor serve me until Its time for a much needed upgrade to the MoBo, CPU, or both?
