Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-51 - Why is the orange power indicator blinking?

I bought an Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-51 back in December 2018. When I'm playing games on it (specifically Rainbow six seige) the frames drop and when i notice the charging indicator which is generally orange while charging, it is blinking which I think means my laptop isn't charging. What might be causing this since I feel like the laptop battery shouldn't have failed this soon.

@devesh18 this is normal in all gaming laptops it means that your battery reached 40% or less and the adapter had to kick in to charge the battery and provide power to the cpu/gpu at the same time it cannot do both at the same time so it will decrease the performance always make sure your battery its 100% and plugged in before you start gaming also any usb devices or external monitors connected will increase the power consumption and the battery will kick in to help the adapter when this one cant provide enough by itself the solution its stop playing exit whatever you are doing and let the battery recharge to 100% and start again after bare in mind its a laptop with limited power supply its not a desktop with a 600W+ power supply and depending on which gpu you have you either have a 135w adapter (1050ti) or a 180w (1060) and even if you used a more powerful adapter (really not advisable at all) it wouldnt matter much as the mobo power wattage input its limited to the adapter you have to avoid any kind of brick/short circuit due to too much wattage

To improve your power consumption you can undervolt your gpu (MSI AB) your cpu (TS) optimize windows and power plans and also if needed reduce the resolution on the particular game but again it all depends on the external devices you have plugged in i have a 5tb 2,5" external usb3.0/usb-c and some more demanding games not all my battery charging light comes on mainly because the the games are installed in the external hdd but if i unplug it or not use it and use the internal hdds never comes on

try to do simple trouble shooting, insert a paper-clip on the battery reset hole press and hold it for 30 secs.

Thank you for such a really detailed answer. I undervolted my cpu to -155 mV and I noticed that the battery is indeed less than 40% when it lags. Thank you!

This keeps happening to me even the battery is at 96% or 100%.
I have undervolted my CPU to -0.225mV

Deathblade too many devices using the usb ports draining too much power forcing teh battery to kick in to aid the adapter without a proper usb self powerd hub instead ????

Anyway just wondering because this is what usually happens in these cases (and even playing games from my external hdd as i do all the time its a rare case that the battery kicks in only i really very demanding games and for a very long period  i remember the last long period game i played was RE2 for 10h+ non stop and the battery never kicked in) if not uninstall your acpi driver completely perform a battery power drain let i rest for 2/3h boot into bios reset to defaults boot into windows let it reinstall the acpi driver and see if the issue still persists

I did this. But the problem persists. The only device plugged in into the usb is an acer nitro gaming mouse. This issue only happens during gaming. Is it maybe the adapter that is dying?

Deathblade another suggestion its for you to check your battery wear percentage if its about 10/15% or less its fine but more than that i would start to worry depending on how long you own it i have mine for 20 months always on AC 24/7 non stop and i currently have 11% wear i would alos check the adapter with a volmeter if you can to see if its generating the required voltage because if its not it would make the battery kick in to help it much earlier than usual but if you dont want to go through all that hassle and the laptop its new just send it back open a warranty repair request to get it diagnosed for any faults

I've had it for around 1 and a half year and it's out of warranty. As for the wear it's showing around 17% wear. Also how can i check the adapter with a voltmeter? Can you suggest any videos?
