I did a Windows 10 update and when the computer restarted it was in safe mode. Now I cannot get out of it no matter what I do. I cannot repair. I cannot restore or reinstall. I have done all the things I have found or told to do. It tells me I cannot reinstall in safe mode. Or I am told cannot restore because the boot configuration data for my PC is missing or contains errors. Or it starts to load the reinstallation disc's and then when it is almost done I get an error window saying unable to repair in safe mode. I have done all I can. Even had a tech guy from Microsoft and he could not help me get done either. Please help.

    Good Morning the1stmagician !

First, what EXACT model of your laptop?

Let's start with the following attempt to resolve:

    1. Click Start.
    2. Then click Computer.
    3. Now click All Programs.
    4. Then click Accessories.
    5. Then click Run.
    6. Type in the blank MSCONFIG field and click OK.

Go to the Services tab and enable ALL services that are disabled. Then click the box that is in the left corner below Hide all Microsoft services then click the Disable all button now click Apply.
Now, please go to the Program Launch tab and click on the Disable All button.
Click OK. You will be prompted to restart the computer by confirming the request by clicking Restart.

When restarting, if it runs again in Safe Mode with Network, run the System File Checker (SFC):

    1. Click Start.
    2. In the search field type: CMD
    3. Right-click the icon and select Run as Administrator.
    4. At the command prompt type: sfc / scannow (note the space between "sfc" and "/")
    5. Wait for the scan to finish.
    6. Restart the computer.

The sfc / scannow command will scan all protected files on the system, replacing the corrupted files with a cached copy that is located in a compressed folder in% WinDir% \ System32 \ dllcache.

The% WinDir% placeholder represents the Windows operating system folder. For example, C: \ Windows.

IMPORTANT: Do not close this Command Prompt window until the check is 100% complete. The results of the scan will be shown after this process is completed.

I cannot access the desktop so there is no way to get to any of the solutions I have been given. Everything I have tried gets blocked by the safe mode. My model is ACER Spin 3 SP315-51-37E7, snil# 73001094472, MFG date: 2017/07/25. I am only able to access F2 and F12 options and I am unable to use any of the options provided by those.

In this case, you can try resetting Bios by removing the battery and the internal RTC battery from the motherboard for about 10 minutes.
Then go back and check that Bios has been reset.
