Hi guys i have an acer predator 15, bought it almost 2 years back. I just used my laptop recently but after somr time when i tried to turn it on it doesnt work.

There are 3 indicators in my laptop, but when i press the power button ( no ac connected) , only the power indicator turns on, not the hard drive. So my laptop doesnt turn on.

Now i resetted it via pinhole then tried to start it up with an ac connected, the batter indicator and the power indicator turns on, but not the hard drive.

Because of this i dont know what to do, with the users manual it means that hard drive inactive, what do i do to fix the problem so i could use my laptop again

Btw if i dont reset it via pinhole there are 2 cases
1 (startup without ac) the power indicator and power button just lights up for a long long time

2( startup with ac) both power and battery indicator both lights up for a long long time, even if i remove the ac then, the batter still indicates that it is charging

You can try to calibrate your battery again by charging it to 100% let it discharge until it shuts down repeat the process 3 times also check you windows battery report for battery wear as you had not used it for a long time and that might be the issue those batteries need to be constantly charged/discharged or they become faulty they stop holding charge the cells will not hold it also check your hdd in another device if possible test it for possible faults

Xapim is the battery at fault here or the hard drive, because i can't even hear something spinning inside, as i said the laptop wont turn on, hence discharging without it actually turned on may prove to be quite if not extremely long

Remove the charger plug. Then again, gently insert the paperclip into the battery reset pinhole for about 10 seconds. Then let the laptop rest for about 15 minutes. Then plug the charger back in but wait another 15 minutes. Then try to turn the laptop back on and immediately start tapping the F2 key. Does the BIOS menu appear? If yes, press F10 to save settings and exit. Jack E/NJ

@Mat3602if you cant hear the hdd spinning might be either the cable faulty/detached or the hdd itself test it in another device/dock if possible to rule it out

OK. Do you mean the drive's flexible flat cable --- FFC? If the screen's still black, try these steps.
    (1) Try to turn the screen on again with the FN+F6 toggle key combo.
    (2) If still nothing, try to HDMI out to a TV screen. You may have to turn the TV on with the FN+F5 toggle key combo.
    (3) If you get a TV screen, the LCD video ribbon cable connectors at the bottom of the screen and mainboard need to be reseated a few times to clean the contacts or the cable itself has developed cracks from opening/closing the lid too much. New video cables usually don't cost much --- less than about $30.
