Is there a way to install either a 2.5 SATA SSD drive or add another M.2 type SSD similar to the one that came installed in the M.2 slot with the computer?
What would be needed in the way of adapter plugs etc.?

You really don't need the hardware kit except for a standard SATA cable for a 2.5" laptop SSD/HDD. Google the cable part number 50.H14N2.003 for your particular machine. Other similar length cables will work as well, the main issue is that they're not too long as not to be able to fit inside the case. Instead of a bracket, I usually use foam to immobilize and protect the 2.5" drive inside the case. Much less of a hassle than working with a metal bracket and tiny screws. Jack E/NJ

Yes, you can ask for the 2.5" SSD 7mm installation kit as a one time deal at this link https://csapps.acer.com/kit-request/#submit  . There's only one m.2 SATA3 card slot so you can replace but not add another m.2 card. Jack E/NJ

Thanks for your info. I clicked on the link you furnished, filled in the information and received a message the says "Part# NX.H8AAA.003 is not valid for this form. Would calling Acer improve my chances of finding the right part #? Is the contact number 1-866-695-2237 the right one or is there one just for parts?  My computer serial number starts out with NXH8AAA003 and has more numbers following that.
