I have had this laptop for a few years. For no apparent reason, my laptop will become completely unresponsive while using it. The screen does not go black, it just displays a frozen image of whatever I was doing before. It does not respond to mouse or keyboard input, does not go into sleep mode when the screen is closed, and does not respond when it is unplugged from power. Both lights are on and blue. However, the screen backlight does respond when using the function key. The only way to stop it is to force restart it.

Each time it has been while I was using Firefox, but I am almost always using it, so I'm not sure that it is this program causing this to happen. This has happened 3 times within the last few weeks. The display of my laptop has been replaced recently.

No, in fact when it happened most recently my laptop was not hot at all. When it froze, the fans started running higher.
