I have an Acer Veriton X4650G Series PC running Windows 10 Pro connected to a Dell U3417W monitor (34")
When I first set up this work station a month ago I was having issues with the monitor getting sporadic horizontal thin white lines that would flicker all over the screen.
Over the course of the day that flicker would increase in severity and evolve into the monitor going black for a second or two every 5 - 10 minutes. The monitor occasionally going to black also evolved into the monitor going black a few times per minute until I would restart the PC. Once restarted the monitor would behave and eventually start the downward spiral explained above.
Looking at several posts about similar issues with different PCs/monitors the usual answers I saw were to increase the refresh rate. I switched from 59hz to 60hz didn't really seem to help. I also saw that people had some success with plugging directly into a wall socket rather than plugging the monitor into an APC. I did that as well and noticed some minor improvement. It seems the white flickering lines have vanished, but the screen going to black still happens. Anybody have any ideas? Thank you.
