Hi, I'm currently looking to add an SSD to my E5-476G-319J. I've looked around and it looks like I need one with m.2 form factor. So I have several questions
1. Are the connectors for an m.2 SATA and m.2 NVMe SSDs same?
2. Which one can my laptop use, the SATA variation or NVMe variation? or both?
3. Will I benefit from buying an NVMe variation over the SATA variation?
Below I have screenshots of HWINFO64 on the PCIe Root Express. Hope I have supplied enough information, your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Your safest choice is an m.2 SATA. Your system will not benefit from an nvme card speed capability. Jack E/NJ

Ok, several more question. I saw again that there are several more sizes regarding m.2, like m.2 2280 and 2242 etc. Is there a certain size limit I should adhere to when buying the m.2 SSD ? Like I have to buy 2242 or something?

One final question sir. Is there a risk that if I buy an NVMe SSD, it won't even work on my laptop? Because currently there is a PM981 that is on discount in my place. Do you think that SSD is good?

It depends on your machine's m.2 connector See the image below. The m.2 nvme has only one slot and may not fit in your system if m.2 sata connector has two keys inside. Check your m.2 connector before you buy. Jack E/NJ

Yes, it should fit and work at SATA3 speeds, not nvme speeds. Jack E/NJ

Ok so just confirming, an NVMe SSD should run on the laptop, just not at NVMe speeds?
