Doesn't sound good! Your best bet is to leave the laptop with NO power until you can clean out the liquid.
Unfortunately, the Coca Cola will not evaporate away. Some will, the rest will be a strong sticky sugar residue. This will need to be cleaned/wiped off with a non-conductive alcohol. To do this you'll need to disassemble the laptop, possibly entirely. It depends on how much liquid was spilled and where it got to inside the laptop.

There is no telling if the Coca Cola damaged the laptop. It is possible. If you attempt to power on the laptop with the liquid inside, I would almost guarantee some damage to occur.

The Coke was left inside the laptop for quite a long time
I'm pretty sure that it's just all turned into a sticky residue, do I try and get a repair or is it too late and need to throw the laptop away
