Hi,

Currently my VN7-591G is running WIn8.1 at 64GB SSD.

I plan to upgrade the SSD to 500GB and install the win10 onto it. Do I need to upgrade the BIOS before that? Will it have any win10 license issue?

Thank you.

    Good night !

What exact model of your laptop?
    Example: VN7-591G-75NJ

There is no need to upgrade Bios.
You should only confirm which type of connection to see if there is any physical limit to the 500Gb capacity size of the SSD.
The Windows license is recorded directly on Bios.
You can use an application such as ProductKey to view the license.
However, the files on the OEM recovery Acer recovery partition are on the original HDD.
If you remove or damage this partition, you will lose the software warranty.

In case, to install Windows 10, do you have a licensed system?

This was machine was not factory-configured to boot Win8.1 from a 64GB SSD. From whom did you acquire this machine? Jack E/NJ
