Dolby audio missing on after windows 1809 update on Acer Nitro AN515-53, any ideas how to fix?

Dolby Audio X2 Windows API SDK is the only dolby listed in the programs

The realtek driver seems to be newer than the latest available ACER-flavored driver from ACER downloads. https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/7571?b=1    I can't tell if it's a Realtek generic or ACER-specific driver.

I suggest this first. Open Control Panel. Search 'restore point'. Click 'create a restore point' in the left pane. Click 'system restore' button. Click 'next'. Choose 1809's automatic 'restore point'. If the system returns to normal, then I suggest temporarily blocking 1809 till the next major update is released and hopefully fixes the issue

yes but windows audio device graph still using 3-4% CPU, might have to roll the update back and or wait until something is fixed. I never noticed this windows audio device graph running until the 1809 update.
So finally figured this out what was causing the windows audio isolation cpu usage, it was Cortana...

    Settings> Cortana>

I Turned off all 3 options

    1. Let cortana respond to hey cortana

    2. Let cortana listen to my commands

    3. Use cortana when screen is locked

Press WIN+R keys. Enter 'msinfo32'. In the right pane, what is the BIOS version number? Then click on the Components folder and audio subfolder. What is the audio driver version number? Open Device Manager. Are there any red or yellow warnings. Jack E/NJ

    BIOS Version/Date Insyde Corp. V1.19, 7/13/2018
    SMBIOS Version 3.0
10.0.17763.1 (via device manger speakers - driver)
No errors in device manager, audio seems to work fine..just no dolby

10.0.17763.1 is Win10 1809 update. Is there a plain vanilla Realtek audio driver version in Device Manager? If none, is there a rollback option available in the Device Manager speakers driver. Jack E/NJ

Dolby audio shows up as turned on under sounds > properties. also windows audio graph isolation is using 3-5% cpu under task manager.

Check task manager startup tab to see if you can see the graph service. Then right click on it to disable. If not, then Run 'services.msc' See if you can identify the graph service. Then turn it off. Jack E/NJ

But I thought 6.0.1.8366 was re-installed from the ACER download site? Did you go back to the newer version,  6.0.1.8555,wherever it came from? Jack E/NJ

yes auto downloaded and installed, really no way to stop it without stopping all updates. atleast i can now roll back now if needed. i have no idea why it wouldn't work with initial 1809 update but works now.

Probably a minor 1809 maintenance update. Nevertheless, you should be able to temporarily prevent a specific update from installing with the Microsoft hide tool https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3183922/how-to-temporarily-prevent-a-windows-update-from-reinstalling-in-windo
