Restore Office 2010 and other programs to Aspire after eRecovery

I recently installed a new bios version on my Aspire, Win XP. (Yes, that was my first mistake). Once installed, the computer failed to boot. I used Acer eRevovery but it did not give me the 3 options as expected.  It immediately began reinstalling XP.  The Aspire now boots, but I don't know what happened to my data and programs.  When I search the Acer drive using a USB to SATA adapter I see the old folders, so apparently eRecovery didn't wipe the drive.  I do have a file on my backup drive labeled backup1.  It is also on the Acer HD.

I can recover most of my data from my backup drive.  What I need are the user keys for installed programs (ex. MS Office, 2010, Quickbooks 2012, and the like.  Since they were downloads the user keys are encrypted in the registry of the old XP install.

How do I get my data and files back from backup1 to the Acer?  Can I recover programs like MS Office without purchasing another copy?

Many Thanks

The program keys for those programs should be available to you through your means of purchasing the products.

If you purchased them digitally, you should have an email with the key for the product.

Yes, I'm doing that now.  I don't understand why the Acer began a recovery before asking me to choose an option.  All of the files are still on the drive.  I just can't access them.

    Thanks for your help.
