Hello everyone, I have a laptop A515-51G-57TV. There is an integrated 4GB module (Micron 4ATF51264HZ-2G3B1, 2400, SODIMM DDR4, CL17), as well as one free slot in which there is a 2GB module (SK Hynix HMA425S6BJR6N-UH, 2400, SODIMM DDR4, CL17). Modules operate in dual channel mode. Does it make sense to change the module 2 GB to 8 GB? Will 4 GB of internal memory and 8 GB removable work in two-channel mode?

    Good Morning INORS394 !

If your model is actually working on dual channel, then it would be a good option to upgrade RAM.
Some models with built-in RAM do not work in dual.
The principle of dual channel operation is that memories are used in pairs.
The idela is that you are identical (capacity, frequency, CAS, etc).
This makes the system make the process more dynamic and with better performance the technology.
In your case, the best option would be to install another 4Gb memory bank with the same specifications as the one you have integrated.
But nothing prevents you from using a larger one.

thank you for you answer! so, why installation 4 GB will be better than 8 GB? Could you tell more about it?

It would only be interesting to use a memory bank of 8GB of RAM if any specific application requires working with a large amount.
Because in this way, all information stored in the dual RAM will have a small lower performance since to release the processed information will have to change the timing when locating the 4Gb more that are in the second slot.
While the two being identical, even without being able to store more information, the response timing would be identical, delivering a compatible speed.
