Blank screen after touching the tower on Aspire TC-780

Off and on during the week I've noticed a strange occurrence with my computer.

First it had started with locking up/freezing where nothing was responsive and I had to restart manually by holding the power button. After trying every solution online, that issue seems to have been fixed (or I've just been lucky so far.)

However, I have a secondary issue that's even more strange. All but two days of the past seven or so, I've had an issue where my leg will BARELY touch the tower, and the screen just goes blank. The PC is still running as I can hear and feel the fan going, but it becomes unresponsive (which I know because the capslock key no longer lights up) and the screen goes blank.

Usually it's a gray color, but once it was pink. Just all a solid color. A manual restart fixes it. It's only been happening once a day, while nothing extraordinary is happening. The only link I've found is that every single time, it's my leg barely touching the tower - and I mean barely. I'm not crashing against it by any means, just a light brushing.

Nothing I have searched up considers this problem, so I'm at a loss. It's not a lose cable issue as even when I check the cables to my monitor and they're plugged in firmly, the screen still stays gray (or pink in that one instance)

All my drivers are current and up to date, no spy/malware or viruses, my OS is up to date as well.

My only other guess - and this is likely a stretch - is perhaps my pants causing static when they touch the tower and it shuts off the screen? Otherwise I'm at a complete loss.

Anyone have a clue why my leg would cause the screen to shut off?

I'd also look (in desperation) at static... Is the outlet the power cord uses properly grounded? Is it connected through a power strip or extension cord? What is the floor surface? You might try isolating the unit from the floor with something non-conductive, like a piece of wood or plastic...
