After a Windows 8.1 crash, I had to use the Acer Recovery thumb drive to restore my system.  All looked good, till I went into Computer and found I only had access to about half of my 500GB HD.  It showed 190GB free of 224GB.  When I tried a partitioning program I discovered a "D:" partition.  This did not show up in Computer. When I tried to delete the "D:" partition I got 'Partition unallocated'.  How do I delete this partition so as to make my whole HD accessible?

Go to disk management and right-click on the unallocated space and select create new simple volume or right-click on the C partition and select to extend it.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

When I right-click on the unallocated space and go thru the New Simple Volume I end up with the partition as 'D' again.  When I right-click on the C partition, Extend Volume is 'grayed out' and not available.  What I want to do is delete the D and regain the space for C.

This is W 8.1 if that will help.
