I am very unhappy with the performance of my Acer Aspire One (AO533; upgraded to 2GB RAM; Intel Atom N455 1.67GHz). It's an absolute dog and is next to useless for many simple tasks like watching Youtube or running basic programs. I've tried upgrading the RAM, tweaking the Windows 7 services to be less resource hungry, and it's still infuriatingly slow.

Short of throwing it into the trash compactor, can I do something to fix this? Is it possible to purchase a newer, faster and more powerful motherboard/CPU to make this machine viable?
