Looking to upgrade my Extensa 7620z from stock CPU and memory.
Can anyone recommend what I should be looking for - would like 4gb memory and a CPU approx 2.4Ghz.
Just not sure what would work.
Thanks

The mainboard BIOS chips only recognizes 2GB max so not much you can do there. https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/Acer/extensa-7620z

The stock cpu is an Intel dual core P8400 2.25GHz socket P type so in principle any socket P should work such as the newer p9600 2.8sGHz.  But the speed differences in socket P cpus would hardly be noticeable or very marginal for most applications --- really not worth the expense and risk of damaging the mainboard socket and cpu pins.

The biggest speed-increase bang for your buck, pound or euro will come from swapping out the old 2.5" HDD with a new 2.5" SSD. It will be a quite noticeable upgrade to this older laptop. Again, Go to this link for specs on compatible upgrades.  https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/Acer/extensa-7620z
