Aspire XC-885 upgrade possibilities?

I searched here and in Google and can't find any info.. So sorry if I'm not in the right place.

I just got the Aspire xc-885 as a Christmas gift and I'm looking to upgrade the video card. Before I'd even go down that road, I know I have to upgrade the power supply to a 300w minimum one. That's where I'm stuck. With the size of the case, I'm not sure what power supply I can use that can fit in my case. Any suggestions?

(Feel free to give me any video card suggestions as well... I'm not a heavy gamer anymore.. I'm old. So I'm just playing the old Blizzard staples WoW, Starcraft etc.. And I'd like to play them as close to max settings as I can. )

In addition to power supply, we should also pay attention to the question that another vidoe board will generate more internal heating.

I believe that power supply is only provided by Acer with the 220W sizing. There are third party supplies that come in larger flavors, we've had users here that have found them. Be sure to measure for fit with video card, there may be size restrictions you'll need to deal with.

Yes.. That is the exact model I have. I didn't even think about more heat..

Yeah.. That was my problem. .I was only finding the 220W from acer and I wasn't sure which others may fit. I know I'll have to look at some low profile cards since the case I have is so small. Ugh.. It's always something..

Do due diligence, especially in measuring sizes and connectors, but I believe the power supply is a Standard Mini-ITX / FLEX ATX type, which you can find online pretty easily.

Did you find a solution to this? I also have an XC885 and seem to have the same power issues trying to install an AMD Radeon Pro WX 2100.

Needless to say, upgrading memory or SSD wont help with the power issue. When you search for replacement Mini-ITX / FLEX ATX PSUs are you not finding any, or just not finding any in the 300W+ range?

If you can upgrade the case, it might be a little more work, but it opens you up to many new possibilities. Then you can basically install any power supply, video card etc. I wanted to install a GTX 970 and just need to upgrade the case and power supply.
