Thanks for the headsup as I'm not worried about getting the update as I found a way using permissions in the registry to disable the one service for windows updates requires while leaving the one that the MS Store needs alone for patching of games and apps so the windows update will never run unless I change that one permission back to allow the service to run.

Thats what I used :p left the one which is needed by the ms store alone so I can still update/download any games/apps I have. Took me a week of figuring out which service to disable through the permissions.

Errr never mind. I see it’s just a service that can be simply disabled or use gpedit

For me the service I disabled was called Update Orchestrator Service (UsoSvc) using permissions to deny systems access (in the registry)to said service which has completely crippled the windows updating system without crippling updating/downloading any apps in the store app.

I still use certain windows 7 items on 10 machine... like calculator, paint, photo viewer  and even task manager! Windows 7 task manager on 10 is actually so light weight! 10 task manager takes a significant chunk of CPU whereas the 7 one loaded on 10 barely took even 1%.

And yes... that is all from Windows 10, not my 7 system.

Also my windows store apps are very minimal:

A few changes here and there, many optimizations and the idle CPU is pretty much at 0.
